Seungtaik Jang

Seungtaik Jang (b. 1959 in Goyang, Korea) studied Fine Art at Hongik University, Korea and Ecole Nationale Superieure des Arts Decoratifs de Paris, France. Mainly engaged in experimental works using unconventional materials such as air spray, resin, and glass instead of traditional painting materials, Jang’s works reveal a universal world where light and color emerge through matter, showcasing diverse variations of painting beyond the canvas. He has recently returned to using brushes to create his "Layered Paintings" series, layering colors on various surfaces. Jang has been actively exhibiting across Korea and France since 1985. His works have been included in different public collections, such as the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul National University and more.
