Jeong Da-Hye

Jeong Da-Hye (b. 1989 in Jeju, Korea) received her BFA in Sculpture from Jeju National University and her MFA in Traditional Arts and Crafts (Traditional Clothing & Textile) from Korea National University of Cultural Heritage. Inspired by the traditional Korean men’s headwear ‘gat’ (갓) worn during the Joseon Dynasty, Jeong mastered the ancient technique of horsehair weaving and innovatively experimented with different shapes and patterns. She skillfully transforms loose horsehair into intricate three-dimensional forms, including vessels, sculptural objects, and relief wall pieces. Jeong’s talent has garnered significant global attention and recognition, including the Grand Prize at the Cheongju International Craft Competition in 2021 and the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize in 2022. Her works are included in the collections of renowned organizations such as the Victoria and Albert Museum and the British Museum.
