Heyse Ip

Heyse Ip (b.1995 in Hong Kong) holds a BA from Chelsea College of Arts and an MA from the Royal College of Arts in the United Kingdom. Ip works across moving-image, sculpture, performance, and sound. Through reimagining the banal and familiar into new fictions, he currently explores themes around urban ecology, particularly the intersectional spaces between humans and animals. By giving a voice to the animal or inanimate in his work, he questions our relationship with ‘nature' and examines our own definitions, perspectives, and impact of being human. Ip’s works have been shown in both domestic and international exhibitions, including in Hong Kong, UK and Germany. He is a member and co-curator of the Five Years artist collective in London.
