Pyun Yae-Rin

Pyun Yae-Rin (b. 1994 in Seoul, Korea) received a BFA in Ceramic Arts and Design from Seoul National University of Science and Technology, Korea, and an MA in Ceramics and Glass from the Royal College of Art, UK. In her practice, Pyun draws profound inspiration from the intricate details of nature — stones, moss, flowers, and snow-covered surfaces — transforming these organic fragments into ceramic works that are both earthly and ethereal. She captures the essence of geological formations shaped by erosion, compression, and weathering while preserving the delicate, transient beauty of natural life. Pyun has been recognized as a finalist for the 63rd Premio Faenza Prize and the 1st Yoolizzy Craft Awards, as well as the recipient of the 2022/2023 FRANZ Rising Star Scholarship.
