Choi Young-Bin

Choi Young-Bin (b. 1984 in Seoul, Korea) received her B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Painting from Seoul National University and later pursued further studies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, obtaining an M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing in 2013. She also completed a doctoral program at Seoul National University and currently a professor of Painting in the School of Fine Arts there. Choi’s abstract paintings explore how reality is constructed through perception, developing a new visual language that harmonizes images experienced through all the senses. Transcending time and space, her works examine the interplay between opposing concepts such as seeing and being seen, consciousness and unconsciousness. Choi has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Korea and the USA. Her works have been acquired by several museums and private collections, including the Seoul National University Museum, Cheongju Museum of Art, and Yangpyeong Art Museum.
